Dr. Fatih Can Karaca wurde 1982 in Istanbul geboren. Er schloss im Jahr 2000 sein Gymnasium an der Bahçelievler Super High School ab und besuchte anschließend die Medizinische Fakultät Cerrahpaşa, die er 2006 abschloss. Während seiner medizinischen Ausbildung war er ein Schlüsselspieler im Basketballteam der Fakultät und gewann zweimal das Medizinturnier „14. März“.

Im Jahr 2007 begann er seine Facharztausbildung in Allgemeinchirurgie an der Universität Istanbul und entwickelte dabei ein großes Interesse an laparoskopischen Operationen. 2009 war er an der Spezialklinik für Stoffwechselchirurgie an der ersten laparoskopischen Stoffwechselchirurgie in der Türkei für Typ-2-Diabetes beteiligt. 2011 setzte er seine Ausbildung in Stoffwechselchirurgie am Taksim German Hospital der Universal Hospitals fort und schloss 2012 seine Facharztausbildung in Allgemeinchirurgie ab.

Von 2012 bis 2014 arbeitete Dr. Karaca als Facharzt für Allgemeinchirurgie am Kanuni Sultan Suleyman Trainings- und Forschungskrankenhaus, gefolgt von einer Tätigkeit an einer Klinik für Stoffwechselchirurgie in Şişli von 2014 bis 2017. In dieser Zeit sammelte er umfangreiche Erfahrungen in der Adipositaschirurgie und der chirurgischen Behandlung von Diabetes. 2015 wurde er Dozent an der Istanbul Bilgi University, wo er sein Wissen und seine Erfahrungen an jüngere Kollegen weitergab. 2016 wurde er zum Assistenzprofessor und 2021 zum außerordentlichen Professor befördert.

Dr. Karaca hatte verschiedene Positionen als Facharzt für Allgemeinchirurgie in verschiedenen Krankenhäusern inne, wo er Adipositaskliniken einrichtete und zahlreiche erfolgreiche Operationen durchführte. Er ist aktives Mitglied mehrerer Berufsverbände, darunter der International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity (IFSO) und der Turkish Obesity Surgery Association (TOSS).

Dr. Karaca ist ein begeisterter Sportfan, insbesondere im Basketball und Fußball, und ermutigt seine Patienten, Sport in ihr Leben zu integrieren. Er spielt außerdem gerne Schach und geht gerne in der Natur spazieren. Er spricht fließend Englisch, ist verheiratet und Vater von zwei Kindern.

Dr. Karaca hat an zahlreichen nationalen und internationalen Konferenzen zur Adipositaschirurgie teilgenommen und dort seine Erkenntnisse und Erfahrungen vorgestellt. Er hat zahlreiche wissenschaftliche Artikel in renommierten internationalen Fachzeitschriften auf dem Gebiet der Adipositaschirurgie veröffentlicht.

Born in Ankara in 1978, Dr. Umut R. Gündüz began his medical career at the Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine.

Later, he became a General Surgery Specialist at Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospital.

From 2011 onwards, they worked as a General Surgery Specialist at Antalya Training and Research Hospital.

In 2018, they became a Clinical Education Instructor. Dr. Umut Rıza Gündüz primarily focused on metabolic, breast, endocrine & other general surgeries.

He specialized in General Surgery at Ankara Training and Research Hospital between 2001 and 2006. He worked as a General Surgery Specialist at Ankara Training and Research Hospital between 2006 and 2008 and later at Ordu State Hospital between 2008 and 2013. In 2016, he received the title of Associate Professor in the Department of General Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, Izmir University. In 2015, he received the Turkish Surgical Association Proficiency Exam (Board) Certificate of Achievement. He is a member of Turkish Surgical Association, Turkish Colon and Rectum Surgery Association, National Endoscopic Laparoscopic Surgery Association, Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Association, and Hepatobiliary Surgery Association. Assoc. Dr. Ali DURMUŞ was born in the Fevzipaşa township of İslahiye, Gaziantep. Because his father worked at Tekel, he started his education at Malatya Derme Primary School and completed it at Adıyaman Atatürk Primary School. When his father was appointed to Amasya Taşova district, he attended secondary school at Taşova Atatürk Secondary School. He finished high school at Gaziantep Kilis High School, ranking 3rd.

Since his uncle was in Çanakkale, he chose Çanakkale Education Institute as a university. Assoc. Prof. Dr. is a teacher. Ali Durmuş was appointed to Yukarı Tutak village in Ağrı's Diyadin district within the scope of compulsory service. After working as a teacher for a period, he took the university exam again.

He was accepted to Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine, one of the two medical faculties that taught in English at that time. He completed one year of English preparation and 6 years of medical education without any loss. He was a member of the ski team and basketball team at the university, and also managed social events such as the annual medical ball.

He was assigned to Iskenderun State Hospital in compulsory service. Assoc. Prof. Dr., who served as the emergency manager. Dr. Hidayet Çatal ist Facharzt für Diabetes- und Fettleibigkeitschirurgie und wurde 1963 in Yalvaç, Isparta, geboren. Dr. Cenan Oktay was born in 1965 in Plovdiv-Bulgaria. He completed his primary school education in Istanbul in 1977. He completed his secondary and high school education at Istanbul Erkek High School, which provides education in German. He graduated from Trakya University Faculty of Medicine in 1984.

Due to his interest in surgery, he completed his General Surgery internship while he was a student, Heidelberg University Head of Surgery Clinics in Germany, Prof.Dr. ch. He did it with Herfarth.

He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine with his 3rd degree in 1990 and started his General Surgery specialization training at SSK Okmeydanı Training Hospital in Istanbul in September-1991. He prepared congress publications as well as clinical and experimental studies during his residency training.

In 1993, he received training on "Microsurgery Course" and "Valtrac" rings used in GIS anastomoses at Würtzburg University, Germany, and became the first user in Turkey and used them in his specialization thesis.

He became a General Surgery Specialist at SSK Okmeydanı Training Hospital in 1996. In the same year, I.U. He completed the "Surgical Gastroenterology Endoscopy Training Courses" at Istanbul Medical Faculty. Due to his interest in Liver and Bile Tract surgery, he graduated from Istanbul University for 4 months in 1999. He worked actively in the General Surgery Department of Liver and Biliary Tract Surgery. During this time, he continued clinical and experimental studies.

Dr. Abdulkadir Bedirli completed his medical education at Istanbul University Istanbul Medical Faculty in 1988. He became a General Surgeon in 1997 and was appointed as Associate Professor in the Department of General Surgery at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine in 2005. He became a Professor in 2010.

In 2011, Dr. Bedirli completed the Robotic Surgery Certification Program in Strasbourg and became a console surgeon. He performed his first robotic surgery in the Department of General Surgery at Gazi University in the same year. Since then, he has successfully applied robotic surgery to over 1500 patients, mostly for obesity, stomach cancer, and colon-rectum cancers.

In 2012, Dr. Bedirli became a Surgical Oncology Specialist and participated in training programs on Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery in Paris-France in 2014 and in Lyon-France in 2016. In 2018, he completed the Gastric Cancer Master Class program at Severance Hospital in Seoul-South Korea, and in 2019, he participated in the Bariatric Redo Surgery training program in Bruges-Belgium.

Dr. Bedirli was awarded the F.A.C.S. (Fellow of the American College of Surgeons) title by the American College of Surgeons in 2018. He has published 61 international and 47 national papers, presented 87 papers at international conferences and 68 papers at national conferences, contributed to 7 book chapters, and served as an editor for one book. Dr. Bedirli has an H-index of 18, with 1064 citations to his 72 publications.
