I personally chose this clinic and Dr. Maciej Mazurek after reading reviews and checking his professional social media, and I recommended him to a friend.
But, the experience on the day of the consultation was very disappointing in terms of human treatment and professionalism.
My friend had been fasting since the night before and had eaten almost nothing early in the morning. We arrived at the clinic at the scheduled time (3:00 PM), but ended up waiting more than three and a half hours without any explanation, food, or guidance. I understand that delays can happen, especially if the doctor is performing surgeries, but a simple explanation or apology would have made a big difference.
When the doctor finally arrived, there was no kindness, no apology, and no empathy—only an impatient attitude, as if he were doing us a favor to be there (detail: the surgery is not cheap at all, even expensive).
During the pre-surgery consultation, I was accompanying my friend, which I believe was reasonable since I was the one who chose and recommended the doctor. The doctor clearly seemed irritated by my presence and rudely stated that there was no chair for me. To be clear, I had no issue with standing, especially as it was a quick consultation. What was uncomfortable was the way this was communicated, in a manner that made me feel unwelcome there.
Ironically, had it not been for me, this surgery would not have taken place at all, as I was the one who researched, chose, and recommended the doctor in the first place.
For an expensive procedure, patients reasonably expect not only technical skill but also humanity, respect, and professionalism. I have met highly renowned surgeons in other countries who, despite being far more well-known, treat patients with much more humility and care.
Finally, I would like to highlight that the other staff in the clinic were excellent: the receptionist was kind and professional, and the nurse was attentive, caring, and genuinely human throughout the process.
