Dr. Stefan Sacu ist ein sehr erfahrener Augenarzt, spezialisiert auf Augenheilkunde und Optometrie, Katarakt- und Netzhautchirurgie, Makula- und Netzhauterkrankungen und Forschung. Seit 1999 ist er Assistenzarzt an der Universitätsklinik für Augenheilkunde der Medizinischen Universität Wien und hat an verschiedenen Institutionen Augenheilkunde und praktische Augenheilkunde gelehrt. Er wurde 2003 mit dem „Theodor-Körner-Wissenschaftspreis“ ausgezeichnet und ist Mitglied der DGII und des ESCRS.
