Assoc. Prof. Gorkem Turkkan started his medical education at Gülhane Military Medical Academy in 2003 and completed it at Zonguldak Karaelmas (Bülent Ecevit) University Faculty of Medicine in 2009. He completed his specialization at Trakya University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Radiation Oncology and became a radiation oncology specialist in 2016.

After completing his compulsory service, he served as a Lecturer and Head of Department at Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Radiation Oncology, from May 2019 to February 2021. Meanwhile, between March and June 2020, he worked as a clinical researcher at Maastricht University Faculty of Medicine Department of Radiation Oncology – MAASTRO Clinic (Netherlands) on stereotactic radiotherapy, thoracic radiotherapy-related lung toxicity and proton therapy. While he was working at İstinye University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Radiation Oncology and Liv Hospital Ulus Radiation Oncology Clinic between March 2021 and April 2023, he received the title of Associate Professor in February 2023. She has been serving her patients at Hisar Hospital Intercontinental since May 2023.

He has performed both traditional radiotherapy and advanced radiotherapy throughout his career. He is one of the experienced physicians in our country in stereotactic radiotherapy and MRI-guided radiotherapy treatments, which have become increasingly popular and used especially recently. So far, he has successfully completed more than 2500 radiotherapy sessions with the MR-Linac device.

He has been a member of the Turkish Society of Radiation Oncology (TROD) since 2013 and the European Society of Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO) since 2015. He has 27 articles published in domestic and international journals, 31 oral-poster presentations presented at national and international congresses, and 5 book chapters published by national and international publishing houses. He taught Term I and Term V undergraduate courses at Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Faculty of Medicine, postgraduate courses within the scope of Ear Nose and Throat Department Specialization training, and Radiotherapy associate degree courses at İstinye University Vocational School of Health Services. She is currently working on 2 ongoing TÜBİTAK Projects. He is married and has a son.

Professor Santoro is heavily involved in research, with interest in many topics, such as the development of new cancer drugs and new biological therapies, interests for solid and haematological tumours, and not only he treats cancer survivors but also patients with comorbidities.

He has worked in Humanitas Research Hospital for 22 years. Professor Santoro’s post-graduate research was carried out at the Unité de Development Therapeutique (Institut de Cancerologie et d’Immunogenetique, Villejuif of Paris) from 1974 to 1975, and in the Division of Medical Oncology of the National Cancer Institute of Milan from 1976 to 1977. 

In 1977, he specialized in Clinical and Laboratory Haematology at University of Rome. In 1979, he completed his fellowship post-graduate work in the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center of New York and later, at Stanford University. In 1980, he specialized in oncology at the University of Genoa. 

Current Teaching Activity: Professor Santoro worked as Contract Professor at the Specialization School in Clinical Pathology ad Pavia University from 1992 to 1997. Also, from 1993 to 2002 he has been President of the Rare Tumour Group. Now he is full professor at Humanitas University. 

Current Positions: 

• .Since 1997, he is the Director of the Department of Medical Oncology and Haematology, at Istituto Clinico Humanitas, Milan. Also, he is Member of the Ethics Committee of Istituto Clinico Humanitas and Director of Clinical Research in the same Institute since 2007.

Associate Professor Dr. Emrah Eraslan graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 2005. From 2006 to 2011, he worked as a research assistant in the Department of Internal Medicine at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine and became an internal medicine specialist in 2011. Between 2011 and 2013, he worked as an internal medicine specialist and chief physician at Dr. Nafiz Körez Sincan State Hospital and Palu District State Hospital. From 2013 to 2016, he received medical oncology training at Dr. Abdurrahman Yurtaslan Ankara Oncology Education and Research Hospital and worked there until 2021. In 2023, he became an associate professor and contributed to his field with his publications throughout his career. He currently serves his patients at Koru Ankara Hospital. • 1989 - erhielt eine höhere medizinische Ausbildung an der Hebräischen Universität;
• 1995 - abgeschlossene Facharztausbildung in Innerer Medizin und Gastroenterologie am Hadassah University Hospital.
• 2001 - 2002 - Praktikum bei Professor Scott Friedman in der Abteilung für Lebererkrankungen an der Sinai School of Medicine in New York.

Heute ist Professor Rifaat Safadi ein herausragender Spezialist für die Behandlung von Lebererkrankungen, Mitglied des Komitees für die Entwicklung des Zentrums für somatische Zelltransplantation und Leiter der Abteilung für Lebererkrankungen des Hadassah Medical Center. Der Professor ist Mitglied mehrerer internationaler Vereinigungen zum Studium der Leber und Autor zahlreicher Artikel in seinem Fachgebiet. Professor Safadi ist Mitglied der Redaktion der wissenschaftlichen medizinischen Fachzeitschrift Clinical Science.

Rifaat Safadi ist Preisträger vieler wissenschaftlicher Auszeichnungen. Insbesondere wurde er wiederholt mit dem Hadassah-Preis für die Untersuchung des Prozesses der Immunmodulation von Leberfibrose unter Verwendung von mRNA ausgezeichnet. Für Leistungen auf demselben Gebiet erhielt der Professor den Sharon-Donsky-Preis und die Israeli Association of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
