Der Doktor hat einen umfassenden Hintergrund in Gynäkologie und Geburtshilfe, mit einer Graduiertenausbildung an der medizinischen Fakultät der Gazi-Universität (1982-1988) und einer postgradualen Ausbildung an der medizinischen Fakultät der Dicle-Universität (1989-1993). Der Arzt hat Erfahrung in der Gynäkologie- und Geburtshilfeabteilung des Şişli Memorial Hospital (2017-2021), in der Geburtshilfe- und Gynäkologieabteilung des Emsey-Krankenhauses (2016-2017), in der Abteilung für Geburtshilfe und Gynäkologie der Universität Medeniyet (2012-2016) und in mehreren anderen Positionen. Der Arzt ist in IVF zertifiziert und hat eine Ausbildung in Roboterchirurgie, laparoskopischer Chirurgie und gynäkologischer Onkologie.

Dr. Sertkaya graduated from Konya Meram Science High School in 2001 and entered Gazi University Medical Faculty the same year, graduating in 2008. He completed his urology specialization at Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital in 2014, becoming a urology specialist.

Since becoming a specialist, he has focused on the sub-branch of Andrology, attending various training sessions and conferences and performing surgeries with some of the world's leading Andrology professors. In 2017, he passed the written and oral proficiency exams conducted by the European Association of Urology, earning the title of "FEBU."

In 2020, Dr. Sertkaya achieved the rank of Associate Professor of Urology. Since January 1993, Dr. Totaro holds the role of the Coordinator of the MAP (Medically Assisted Procreation) Center and of the Obstetrics-Gynecological Ultrasound Center at the Ospedale Santa Maria at the Maternal and Child Department. Under his supervision the Center, one of the leading MAR centers in Italy, performs more than 1,000 procedures a year. Ospedale Santa Maria - is in first position, for number of cycles of IUI, intrauterine insemination (586) - level I technique, while for the number of oocyte thawing procedures - level II and III technique - the hospital of Santa Maria from Bari occupies the 4th place in the national ranking.

In 1986 Dr. Totaro graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bari, Italy with full marks, where 4 years later he specialized in Gynecology and Obstetrics. He then completed his diploma with participation at numerous professional courses, such as "Biophysical and biochemical monitoring of the fetus" (one year course, 1991, Bari) and obtaining a diploma in Clinical Sexuology from the ELEUSIS – International Center for the study, research and therapy of female, male and couple sexual dysfunctions (two years course, 1996, Bari).
