Professor Raanan Berger, MD, PhD, ist medizinischer Onkologe und Strahlentherapeut. Er ist Direktor des Krebszentrums am Sheba Medical Center und leitet dessen klinische Forschungseinheit. Er stand 2025 auf der Forbes-Israel-Liste „Best Doctors“. Er leitet das uro-onkologische Programm mit Schwerpunkt Prostatakrebs. Seine Behandlung umfasst systemische Therapie und Strahlentherapie in einem multidisziplinären, patientenzentrierten Modell.
Er ist Facharzt für Onkologie. Er erwarb seinen MD und PhD an der Universität Tel Aviv und schloss seine klinische Ausbildung am Sheba Medical Center ab. Anschließend absolvierte er ein Postdoktorandenstipendium am Dana-Farber/Harvard mit Schwerpunkt Prostatakrebs bei Dr. Philip Kantoff und molekularer Onkologie im Labor von Dr. William C. Hahn. Er ist Mitglied der ESMO und der ASCO. Er hat mehr als 20 fachbegutachtete Publikationen mitverfasst, darunter Studien zu Ergebnissen bei Prostatakarzinomen mit hohem versus sehr hohem Risiko sowie zu BRCA1/2 in großen Kohorten.

About the Doctor
Professor Raanan Berger is a leading medical oncologist and radiotherapist, serving as the Director of the Cancer Center at Sheba Medical Center.
He also heads the clinical research unit within the Institute of Oncology and Radiotherapy, where he is actively involved in advancing innovative cancer therapies.
Prof. Berger has played a key role in developing a comprehensive patient support program, integrating medical treatment with psychological and social care. This multidisciplinary model ensures that patients and their families receive not only cutting-edge oncology care, but also continuous emotional and supportive guidance throughout the treatment process.
He leads the genitourinary oncology program, with a particular focus on prostate cancer, and runs a basic and translational research laboratory investigating molecular mechanisms involved in prostate and breast cancer development.
Professor Berger is the co-author of over 20 peer-reviewed scientific publications.
