Sie erwarb einen medizinischen Abschluss (MD) und promovierte (cum laude) an der Autonomen Universität Madrid. Ihre Facharztausbildung in Medizinischer Onkologie absolvierte sie am Hospital 12 de Octubre. Zudem erlangte sie einen Masterabschluss in Molekularer Onkologie.
