Dr. Bülent Ünal ist Allgemeinchirurg und onkologischer Chirurg. Er leitet die Allgemeinchirurgie und die chirurgische Onkologie am Florence-Nightingale-Krankenhaus. Sein Studium an der Çukurova-Universität schloss er 1996 ab. 2001 beendete er seine Facharztausbildung in Allgemeinchirurgie am Ankara Numune Ausbildungs- und Forschungskrankenhaus. 2012 schloss er eine Zusatzweiterbildung in chirurgischer Onkologie an der İnönü-Universität ab.
2008 war er für zehn Monate als NCI Short-Term Scientist am University of Pittsburgh Medical Center tätig und ließ sich in Sentinel-Lymphknoten-Techniken und Duktoskopie ausbilden. 2010 absolvierte er eine Weiterbildung in Transplantationschirurgie und Onkologie am Universitätsklinikum Gießen und Marburg. Er hat zahlreiche internationale Publikationen und Buchkapitel verfasst. Zu seinen mitverfassten Fallserien zählen 128 Lebertransplantationen mit Lebendspendern, 26 Fälle von Fournier-Gangrän und 18 Zwerchfellverletzungen.
Er gehört dem Vorstand der Gesellschaft für chirurgische Onkologie an. Zudem ist er Mitglied mehrerer türkischer und internationaler chirurgischer Fachgesellschaften.
