Er erwarb seinen Abschluss in Medizin an der Medizinischen Fakultät in Zagreb und absolvierte sein Praktikum und seine Spezialisierung in allgemeiner und plastischer Chirurgie an der Abteilung für Chirurgie des Universitätsklinikums „Rebro“. Er ist Mitglied der Kroatischen Chirurgischen Gesellschaft für Plastische, Rekonstruktive und Ästhetische Chirurgie und der Kroatischen Chirurgischen Gesellschaft und hat an zahlreichen internationalen Konferenzen und Kursen teilgenommen. Dr. Bagatin hat die höchste Englischstufe an der Fakultät von McGill abgeschlossen.
