Dr. Mehmet Alp Tavas ist Zahnarztspezialist mit Abschlüssen der Ege Universität und der Universität Manchester. Er hat sowohl seinen Master als auch seine Promotion in Zahnmedizin abgeschlossen. Von 2000 bis 2012 war er als beratendes Fakultätsmitglied am Queen Dental Center tätig. Zudem lehrte er an der İstanbul Medipol Universität und der İstinye Universität.

Dr. Tavas hat bedeutende Beiträge zur zahnmedizinischen Forschung geleistet. Er forschte zu kieferorthopädischen Klebern und Schmelzoberflächenbehandlungen. Seine Arbeiten wurden in Fachzeitschriften wie IRCS Medical Science und dem British Journal of Orthodontics veröffentlicht und unterstreichen seinen Einfluss auf Zahnmedizin und Ausbildung.

Er wurde 1977 in Plovdiv, Bulgarien geboren. Nach Abschluss der Grundschule und des Gymnasiums schloss er 2001 sein Grundstudium an der Fakultät für Zahnmedizin der Marmara-Universität ab. Im selben Jahr begann er sein Doktoratsstudium an der Fakultät für Zahnmedizin der Marmara-Universität, Abteilung für Mund-, Kiefer- und Gesichtschirurgie. Nach Abschluss seiner Promotion im Jahr 2007 wurde er 2011 außerordentlicher Professor und 2016 Professor in derselben Abteilung. Seit 2022 arbeitet er in der Abteilung für Mund-, Kiefer- und Gesichtschirurgie der Fakultät für Zahnmedizin der Bahçeşehir-Universität.
