Assoziierter Professor Halil Hüseyin Cagatay, MD, ist Augenarzt. Er wurde an der Medizinischen Fakultät Istanbul (1999–2005) und am Şişli Etfal Ausbildungs- und Forschungskrankenhaus (2005–2009) ausgebildet. Er praktiziert in İzmir und Istanbul. Seine Schwerpunkte umfassen die Kataraktchirurgie, auch komplexe Fälle, die Netzhautchirurgie sowie die okuloplastische Chirurgie. Besonderes Interesse gilt der Kinderaugenheilkunde, Strabismus, Ptosis, Keratokonus und anderen Hornhauterkrankungen, Glaukom, Netzhauterkrankungen und der refraktiven Chirurgie. Routinemäßig führt er Laserbehandlungen sowie kombinierte Glaukom- und Kataraktoperationen durch. Zudem führt er DCR (Dakryozystorhinostomie) sowie Operationen zur Versorgung mit Kunstaugen, an Lidtumoren, bei Raumforderungen der Orbita und bei Traumata durch.
Zu seinen Akkreditierungen und Erfolgen zählt das Bestehen der Diplomprüfung des European Board of Ophthalmology (EBO). 2016 erwarb er in Paris das Fellowship des European Board of Ophthalmology (FEBO) und wurde im selben Jahr zum Assoziierten Professor für Augenheilkunde ernannt. Seine wissenschaftliche Arbeit umfasst 33 internationale und 12 nationale peer-reviewte Publikationen. Er präsentierte 74 Poster- oder mündliche Präsentationen, 4 Videopräsentationen und 3 Fotopräsentationen auf Kongressen. Zudem hat er zu zwei Buchübersetzungen oder -kapiteln beigetragen.

Associate Professor Halil Hüseyin Cagatay, MD, was born in Tarsus district of Mersin. He completed primary, secondary, and high school education in Mersin. He completed medical education in Istanbul Faculty of Medicine between 1999-2005. He completed specialization education at Sisli Etfal Training and Research Hospital between 2005-2009.
Dr. Cagatay continues his active working life by following current developments. He continues to work on eye health in infants and children, strabismus, eye aesthetics, and eyelid diseases in adults and children particularly. Apart from these studies, he performs cataract and laser treatments routinely.
Dr. Cagatay has worked in the fields of eye diseases, especially Cataract, Retina, and Oculoplastic Surgery. His specialization dissertation topic focused on “Frontalis suspension surgery in ptosis cases”.
Dr. Cagatay has passed the European Board of Ophthalmology Diploma Examination. In 2016, he received the title “Fellowship European Board Ophthalmologist” in Paris, in the exam attended by ophthalmologists trained in Europe.
