Dr. Tarek M. Hashem ist außerordentlicher Professor für chirurgische Onkologie am National Cancer Institute der Kairo-Universität (seit 2020). Zudem ist er Konsiliararzt für Brust- und onkoplastische Chirurgie am Shefa Al Orman Comprehensive Cancer Center in Luxor (seit 2018).
Schwerpunkte: Behandlung von Brustkrebs und onkoplastische Chirurgie. Eingriffe umfassen brusterhaltende Operationen, Mastektomie und Lumpektomie. Axilläres Staging: Sentinel-Lymphknoten-Biopsie und Axilladissektion. Er führt Reduktionsmammaplastik und Mastopexie durch. Rekonstruktive Optionen: Implantate, Expander und Lappenplastiken (LD, TDAP, LICAP, AICAP, TRAM, SEAP) sowie Mamillenrekonstruktion und Lipofilling. Zudem führt er Supermikrochirurgie zur Behandlung von Lymphödemen durch.
Qualifikationen: MBBCh (Kasr El-Aini, Kairo-Universität). MRCS (England, 2008). Master in Allgemeinchirurgie (Kasr El-Aini, Kairo-Universität, 2009). Internationales Fellowship in Brustchirurgie gemäß EUSOMA (Marienhospital Düsseldorf, 2011). Fellowship in Brustchirurgie (Universitätsklinikum Heidelberg, 2013). Promotion in chirurgischer Onkologie (2015).
