Dr. Mohamed Mahmoud Abdelhakim ist Leiter der Strahlenonkologie am Shefa al Orman Hospital in Luxor. Er ist Professor für Strahlenonkologie am National Cancer Institute der Kairo-Universität. Zuvor war er außerordentlicher Professor (2015–2020), Dozent (2010–2015), Assistenzdozent (2003–2009) und Assistenzarzt (2000–2003). Außerdem arbeitete er als Spezialist bei der Gharbia Cancer Society.
Er behandelt stationäre und ambulante Patientinnen und Patienten mit Brustkrebs, Weichteilsarkomen, Lymphomen sowie gynäkologischen, gastrointestinalen, urogenitalen und ZNS-Tumoren. Seine Kompetenzen umfassen bildgestützte Brachytherapie, IMRT, VMAT, SRS und SBRT. Er führt konventionelle und CT-basierte Planung sowie 3D-CRT durch. Er arbeitet mit Kobalt- und Linearbeschleunigern sowie mit Elektronenstrahltherapie. Er bietet HDR- und LDR-Brachytherapie, intrakavitätär und interstitiell, an. Er führt zudem stereotaktische Radiotherapie, Ganzkörper- und Ganzhautbestrahlung durch.
