Professor Kim Hyun-hoe ist Chirurg für urologische Krebserkrankungen. Er ist auf Prostata- und Nierenkrebs sowie robotische Chirurgie spezialisiert. Er leitet das Zentrum für robotische Chirurgie und das Prostata- und Nierenkrebszentrum des Myongji-Krankenhauses. Er führte Koreas erste Single-Incision-Laparoskopie durch. Am SNUH leitete er in fünf Jahren über 2.300 da-Vinci-Eingriffe. Derzeit arbeitet er mit dem da-Vinci-Xi-System.
Er besitzt die Abschlüsse MD, MS und PhD der Seoul National University. Er war Direktor der robotischen Chirurgie am SNUH sowie des Urologie- und Prostatakrebszentrums. Er war Präsident der Koreanischen Gesellschaft für Endourologie und Robotik und ist Vorstandsmitglied der Koreanischen Urologischen Gesellschaft. Zu seinen Auszeichnungen zählen das WCE Best Laparoscopy/Robotic Paper und das KUA Best Paper. Zudem erhielt er mehrere nationale akademische Ehrungen. Er trägt in Zusammenarbeit mit der Seoul National University und Intuitive Surgical zur Forschung an der nächsten da-Vinci-Generation bei. Dies war die erste derartige Kooperation in Asien.

Qualifikationen
Professor Kim Hyun-hoe is one of Korea’s most renowned urologic cancer specialists and a leading expert in minimally invasive and robotic surgery. He specializes in prostate cancer, kidney cancer, and robotic urologic surgery and currently serves as Director of both the Robotic Surgery Center and the Prostate & Kidney Cancer Center at Myongji Hospital. Before joining Myongji Hospital, he was Professor of Urology at Seoul National University College of Medicine and served as Director of the Robotic Surgery Center and Director of the Urology/Prostate Cancer Center at Seoul National University Hospital.
Professor Kim is recognized as a pioneer of minimally invasive urologic surgery in South Korea. He successfully performed Korea’s first single-incision laparoscopic surgery and contributed to the wider adoption of advanced laparoscopic techniques through his clinical research. During his tenure as Director of Seoul National University Hospital’s Robotic Surgery Center, he played a key role in the center reaching more than 2,300 da Vinci robotic procedures within five years. He also participated in next-generation da Vinci surgical robot research with Seoul National University after receiving robotic equipment support from Intuitive Surgical as the first such case in Asia. At Myongji Hospital, he leads precision robotic surgery for prostate, kidney, and other urologic cancers using the da Vinci Xi system.
