Dr. Ik-beom Shin ist Brust- und Schilddrüsenchirurg. Er absolvierte sein Medizinstudium an der Inje University College of Medicine. Seine klinische Grundausbildung (Internship) absolvierte er am Inje University Sanggye Paik Hospital. Anschließend schloss er die Facharztausbildung ab und war als Hospitalist (Krankenhausarzt) am Inje University Haeundae Paik Hospital tätig. Er absolvierte eine Zusatzweiterbildung in Schilddrüsen- und endokriner Chirurgie am Haeundae Paik Hospital sowie eine Zusatzweiterbildung in Brust- und endokriner Chirurgie am Seoul National University Hospital. Er ist Spezialist für Schilddrüsen- und endokrine Chirurgie (Korean Surgical Society). Zudem ist er für Brust- und Schilddrüsenultraschall zertifiziert (Korean Society of Surgical Ultrasound).

Er veröffentlichte u. a. im Korean Journal of Clinical Oncology (2019); in Surgical Endoscopy (2020, eine prospektive RCT zur gaslosen BABA-Thyreoidektomie); im Journal of Clinical Medicine (2022, Miniflap vs. konventionelle BABA); in Clinical Medicine Insights: Oncology (2023, sonografischer Grenzwert für extrathyreoidale Ausdehnung); sowie im Journal of Breast Cancer (2023). Er ist Lebensmitglied der Korean Surgical Society, der Korean Thyroid Association und der Korean Association of Thyroid and Endocrine Surgeons. Er ist ordentliches Mitglied der Korean Society of Surgical Oncology, der Korean Breast Cancer Society und der Korean Society of Surgical Ultrasound.
