Professor Hwang Sung-joo ist Leiter des Haartransplantationszentrums am Myongji Hospital. Er ist ein international anerkannter Haartransplantationschirurg mit über 30 Jahren Erfahrung. Er führt FUT, FUE und komplexe Korrektureingriffe durch. Er hat rund 50 Millionen Haare transplantiert.
Er war der erste koreanische Präsident der ISHRS. Er gründete und leitete die asiatische und die koreanische Gesellschaft für Haartransplantationschirurgie. Er erhielt den ISHRS Platinum Follicle Award. Er entwickelte die tiefenkontrollierte Transplantation (DCT) und ein Implantationsgerät zur Verbesserung des Transplantatüberlebens. 2005 führte er Koreas erste Haartransplantation von Schwester zu Schwester nach einer Knochenmarktransplantation durch und 2025 eine von Mutter zu Tochter. Qualifikationen
Professor Hwang Sung-joo is one of Korea’s most renowned hair transplant specialists and an internationally recognized expert in hair restoration surgery. He is currently Director of the Hair Transplant Center at Myongji Hospital. With decades of experience in hair transplantation, he has performed both surgical and non-surgical hair restoration procedures and, according to Myongji Hospital, transplanted approximately 50 million hairs over 30 years of clinical practice. His expertise includes FUT and FUE hair transplantation, treatment of male and female pattern hair loss, hairline correction, and complex hair restoration cases.
Professor Hwang is the first Korean physician to have served as President of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) and is a founder and former President of both the Asian Association of Hair Restoration Surgeons and the Korean Society of Hair Restoration Surgery. In 2006, he received the prestigious ISHRS Platinum Follicle Award for outstanding achievements in hair restoration. He also developed the DCT (Depth Controlled Transplantation) technique and a dedicated implantation device designed to optimize transplantation depth and improve graft survival. In 2005, he successfully performed Korea’s first hair transplantation between sisters after bone marrow transplantation. In 2025, he performed another rare case in which hair was transplanted from a mother to her teenage daughter who had previously received her mother’s bone marrow.
